Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a “serial contestant and loser,” predicting he will return to the ballot in 2031.
Wike made the remarks while inspecting ongoing road projects in Abuja, dismissing Atiku’s criticism of the current administration’s performance.
He challenged the former vice president to compare the state of the FCT now with when he was in office, insisting there have been significant improvements.
The minister also denied allegations by the African Democratic Congress that authorities attempted to disrupt its convention, saying there was no interference.
Wike stressed that governance remains the priority, noting that contractors are focused on work, not politics, as the next election approaches.
