Adeleke Seeks Second Term, Cites Performance and Development Agenda

Ademola Adeleke has declared that his performance in office justifies a second term as governor of Osun State.

The governor made the statement on Wednesday while receiving members of the Ansar‑ud‑Deen Society of Nigeria, Osun State Council, at the Government House in Osogbo.

Adeleke said the achievements of his administration since assuming office in 2022 have fulfilled the promises he made to the people during the election campaign.

According to him, his administration has upgraded its development agenda to further improve the welfare of residents. The priorities include youth, women and workers’ empowerment; infrastructure development to boost economic activities; expansion of agro-industrial projects for economic growth; improved access to quality healthcare and education; and creating a safer business environment to generate jobs.

“We have delivered on the mandate given to us by the people of Osun and remain committed to doing more,” the governor said.

Earlier, the Ansar-ud-Deen delegation, led by its council secretary, Pharmacist Akande Hafiz, commended the governor for infrastructure projects in Iwo, particularly the dualisation of the Odo-Ori-Adeeke Road, which they said has improved socio-economic activities in the area.

The group also appealed to the state government to support the construction of a new mosque after their previous place of worship was demolished during road construction.
