Ikenga Ugochinyere, the member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo State, has officially joined the Action People’s Party (APP), leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APP State Chairman, Hon. Ernest Njesi, announced Ugochinyere’s defection, stating it’s a bold affirmation of faith in the power of the people and democratic ideals.
Ugochinyere, a former PDP member, had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the party, citing internal squabbles and unfair treatment. He was elected to represent Ideato Federal Constituency in 2023 and has been a vocal advocate for good governance and the rights of ordinary citizens
