The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has condemned the killing of villagers in Kasuwan Daaji community, Niger State, describing the attack as a national disgrace and an indictment on the Federal Government for failing to protect citizens.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, the National Secretary of CUPP, Peter Ameh, said the massacre of defenceless residents by suspected bandits was a profound failure of governance and security.
He described the incident as “an utter disgrace” and one of the most appalling tragedies of the 21st century, accusing the President of showing little compassion or empathy toward the victims.
“Citizens were mercilessly slaughtered in broad daylight, yet the president behaves as though the victims are not Nigerians,” Ameh said.
At least 42 villagers were reportedly killed when armed bandits attacked the community over the weekend. Several others were injured, while an unspecified number of residents were abducted during the attack.
CUPP called on the Federal Government to urgently address the worsening security situation and take decisive steps to protect lives and property across the country.
