 PDP Mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Hails Him as “Hero of Political Integrity”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, who reportedly collapsed and died earlier today.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the party described Ewhrudjakpo as a trusted and faithful party man and a hero of political integrity whose passing has left the PDP in deep shock.

The National Working Committee, led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, said the late deputy governor was an honest, consistent, and principled politician who practiced politics “with conviction, not convenience.”

The statement praised Ewhrudjakpo’s strong character and unwavering commitment to integrity, noting that he upheld these values until his final moments.

The PDP extended condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State, describing his death as painful and irreparable, and prayed for the repose of his soul.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s passing is considered a major loss to the party and the state, where he was widely respected for his dedication to public service and principled leadership.
