Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), months after announcing his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
El-Rufai completed his registration and received his ADC membership card at the party’s U/Sarki Ward office in Kaduna State.
His defection follows his March 10 resignation from the APC, during which he stated that the party had abandoned the ideals upon which it was founded. He accused the APC leadership of ignoring internal concerns and drifting away from its progressive vision.
El-Rufai, a key figure in the 2013 merger that created the APC, said he repeatedly raised issues over the party’s direction for two years but was continually dismissed.
His move to the ADC marks a major step in his political realignment and is expected to strengthen the party’s influence in Kaduna State and beyond ahead of future elections.
