Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has strongly condemned Israel’s recent wave of airstrikes on Iran, describing the attack as a dangerous provocation that could ignite wider conflict across the Middle East.
In a statement issued Friday, Hezbollah said:
“This enemy adheres to no logic or laws and knows only the language of killing, fire, and destruction,”
while denouncing the strikes as a “brutal” act of aggression.
Often viewed as the most formidable faction within the Iran-led resistance axis, Hezbollah has seen its strength significantly diminished following its most recent war with Israel, which ended under a ceasefire agreement in November.
During that conflict—which began after Hezbollah launched attacks in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza—many of the group’s top leaders were killed and its military infrastructure severely damaged.
Under the terms of the ceasefire, Hezbollah agreed to withdraw from border areas and relinquish its weapons to the Lebanese state.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry also condemned Israel’s assault, saying it is engaged in “continued diplomatic efforts” to prevent Lebanon from being dragged into further conflict.
President Joseph Aoun echoed this sentiment, stating:
“Israel’s strikes were not only against the Iranian people but also a direct blow to international efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East.”
On June 13, Israeli strikes reportedly hit about 100 targets in Iran, including nuclear facilities and military command centers, killing high-ranking officials such as the Iranian armed forces chief and top nuclear scientists
