BREAKING: Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid on six-year deal

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of England international Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, with the right-back committing to a six-year contract that runs from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2031.

The Spanish giants announced the agreement with Liverpool in an official statement released on Friday, stating:
“Real Madrid C.F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons.”

The 26-year-old defender makes the switch to the Santiago Bernabéu following a trophy-laden career at Liverpool, where he won nine major honours. His haul with the Reds includes one UEFA Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and a Community Shield.

A homegrown talent, Alexander-Arnold rose through Liverpool’s academy ranks and became a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s side. He made his England debut in 2018 and has represented the national team at two World Cups (2018 and 2022) and UEFA Euro 2024.

Individually, he has earned widespread acclaim. He was included in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 in 2020, twice featured in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season (2018/19 and 2021/22), and made the Premier League Team of the Season three times (2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22). In 2019/20, he was also named the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to make his Real Madrid debut in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on June 14.
