Uromi Killings: DSS Operatives Arrest Two Principal Suspects

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested two key suspects allegedly linked to the killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State last week.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Friday Ituah, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the suspects were apprehended in Uromi following credible intelligence.

He added that security operatives are actively pursuing other individuals involved in the tragic incident.

The arrested suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation and prosecution by relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, visited Kano State to offer condolences to the government and families of the victims. During his visit, he disclosed that 14 other suspects had already been arrested in connection with the attack and were also being moved to Abuja for further questioning.

Governor Okpebholo assured the bereaved families that justice would be served and those responsible would be held accountable. He also pledged that adequate compensation would be provided to the victims’ families.
